Philosophy

When it comes to philosophy or famous quotes, we all have a different opinion. Some of us may agree or disagree with what the person says. Some may even feel that the quote goes two ways. For instance, Samuel Johnson made a statement saying, "It matters not how a man dies, but how he lives." That statement will make a person really think.
In a way it does matter. A man may spend his life bothering no one and giving to those who are not blessed with the things he has. So why should he die a crucial , violent death? Yes, he does deserve many things, but that is not one of them. He spends his life giving to others, and this is how he is repaid? That's unjust!
This same man who's doing this is leaving his mark in the world. He'll be known as the "Man who'll give you the shirt off his back, " or "The man who'll give you his last." So why should he be known as "The man who died a horrible death"? As long as he leaves a positive image behind, nothing else matters. The same thing applies to a man who lives a bad life.
To me, no death is a kind one, except for dying in your sleep. If a person lives his life giving out a negative image and having a violent behavior, why should he die a pleasant death? It's not fair to the humble, giving guy.
I know that when we are born God has it all planned on how we are to die, but I still feel that it is unfair to some people, like myself, that one man dies one way and another dies another.
So if you ask me if I agree with Mr. Johnson, I cannot say.
