The World Just Isn't the Same!

(To the memory of Micheal Thomas)

by Alicia Bowman

The world just isn't the same.
People go around killing and think it's a game.
Drugs are being sold all over the street,
Another one dead, covered with the white sheet.

The world just isn't the same.
I can't understand why it's this way,
Bad news heard every single day.
We need to use our mind instead of our fist.

Can you tell me why it has to be like this?

The world just isn't the same.
No longer safe to walk outdoors,
Time to wise up 'cause this we can't ignore...
The fact that we're living on dangerous ground.

Pop went the gun, what a familar sound.

It's sad that we can't trust one another.
Let's start sticking together like sista and brotha.
When it comes to it, we're to blame.

I say once more,"This world just isn't the same!"
