I've Watched

by Ruby Holden

I've watched pollen from plants, it drips.
So do the lies from your lips.

I've watched silent tears, they fall.
but have you noticed them at all?

I've watched broken hearts melt away.
I've watched aspirations for a better day.

I've watched the lies you so boldly spread.
I've watched myself wish I were dead.

I've watched the dress of my mother, tattered.
I've watched her dreams as they were shattered.

I've watched visions of my father fade.
I've watched the process in which you were made.

I've watched everything you see . . .
I've even watched you watching me.
