Hurricanes tournament gets under way today

LEBEAU - The North Central Hurricanes Thanksgiving Tournament begins today in Lebeau with six local schools fighting for the trophy.

"This should be a good tournament with several local teams playing," North Central Athletic Director Herb Lamb said. "We invite the parish to come visit us and watch some great basketball."

The Port Barre Lady Devils face North Iberville at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Northwest Lady Raiders taking on Livonia at 6 p.m.
The Northwest Raiders will battle Livonis in tonight's finale at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday's action begins at 4 p.m. with Pine Prairie Lady Panthers taking on the Livonia-Northwest winner.

The Eunice Bobcats will tip off against the Beau Chene Gators at 5:30 p.m. in boys action.

The North Central Lady Hurricanes will face the Port Barre/N. Iberville winner at 7 p.m., followed by the North Central Hurricanes battling Port Barre at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday's action begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Livonia-Northwest loser facing the Eunice-Beau Chene loser.

Girls' play continues at noon with the Livonia-Northwest loser battling either North Central or Port Barre-North Iberville winner.

The winner of Port Barre-Livonia-Northwest will face each other at 1:30 p.m.

The girls consolation game will be held at 3 p.m. followed by the boys consolation at 4:30 p.m.

The girls finals of the Hurricane tournament will tip off at 6 p.m. and the boys finals will close out the tournament at 7:30 p.m.
