Parish coaches discuss football jamboree

They were talking football and eating brisket.
The coaches from the local public high schools participating in the St. Landry Parish Jamboree and said what they thought about their teams for the upcoming season.
The jamboree will be held Aug. 29 at Donald Gardner Stadium with North Central and Beau Chene kicking it off at 6:15 p.m.
The coaches from the first contest, Herb Lamb of North Central and James Waguespack of Beau Chene spoke about the upcoming year.
Lamb reiterated the importance of coaches on the lives of young men in high school.
He also discussed plans for his team this season.
"We're going to run left, run right and run up the middle; then we're going to pass left, pass right and pass up the middle," said Lamb. "But seriously, as long as our players go out there and give it everything they've got, then we've already won."
Waguespack went with humor, opting to tell a Boudreaux and Thibodeaux joke to loosen up the crowd. He also spoke about his Gators, saying that they were in the process of building a successful program.
