LEBEAU - Every team needs a superman. Chris Cane came to the rescue Friday for the North Central Hurricanes.
He scored the game's first points on a 22-yard run and he later helped the Hurricanes take a 14-8 advantage with a 26-yard pass to Lionel Richard. Cane also ran in the two-point conversion.
The North Central star carried the ball 20 times for 180 yards in the win. The Hurricanes held off a last-minute Avoyelles rally to win 21-20.
For his performance, Cane grabbed the Daily World Player of the Week honors for the second week of the season.
