Mr. Willie C. Haynes III
Congratulations to Mr. Haynes on his new appointment as Principal of Melville Elementary!!!
Mr. Willie Haynes, former assistant principal, is a graduate of Southern University with a B.A. in Health and Physical Education and Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision. He taught Biology and Physical Science in Iota, La. from 1974 to 1980 and at Washington High School from 1980-81.
He was assistant principal of Melville High School from 1981 to 1990. In 1990 he was appointed assistant principal of the newly consolidated North Central High School and has been a cornerstone of the school since then especially in the area of student discipline. Mr. Haynes is firm and yet fair in dealing with students. His experience and professionalism are an asset to our school.
Involved in several community services, he is a member of the Concerned Citizens Group of the Town of Melville, assists the Melville Volunteer Fire Department and is Commissioner of St. Landry Parish Housing Authority. Also involved in politics, Mr. Haynes was St. Landry Parish Police Juror from 1978-1992 and Councilman for the Town of Melville from 1992-1986. Mr. Haynes belongs to several professional organizations including LEA/NEA, SLAE, Louisiana Principal's Association and National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.
