NCHS Legal Firm Defeats OHS in Parish Mock Trial Contest
On Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m., NCHS scored its second win in the St. Landry Parish Mock Trial Contest, which was held in the courtroom of Judge Kenneth Boagni, Jr. In the case of Pat Boudreaux vs. Tiger Drilling Co., attorneys Chanci Shaw, Jeanine Miller, and Jeanette Fontenot-on behalf of plaintiff Pat Boudreaux (Travis Bush)-did a superb job. Witnesses on behalf of the plaintiff were Dr. Terry Wilcox (Marion Durand) and Toni Lyons (Kendra Doucet). All team members were well prepared, confident, and articulate in presenting their case.
On Tuesday night, March 10, NCHS scored its first win over OCHS . On Tuesday, March 17, NCHS will go up against Eunice High. The team was prepared by attorneys Alonzo and Vanessa Harris of the firm Harris & Harris and team coaches Rose Sam (counselor) and Huey Hawkins (social studies teacher) at NCHS. The Mock Trial contest is under the direction of Mr. Donald Pitre, supervisor of English and social studies and Attorney Peter Caviness of the St. Landry Parish Bar Association.
