North Central FFA members attended a Public Speaking Workshop on Monday, October 1, 2001 at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. The workshop was sponsored by the Imperial Calcasieu and the Acadiana Resource and Conservation Development along with the Louisiana FFA Association and ULL College of Applied Life Sciences.
        The students received information on public speaking such as various opportunities, constuction of speech, and proper dress. Presenting the workshop were Agriscience teachers, State FFA officers, members of the Evangeline and LafayetteToastmasters and Blue Rolfes, Channel 10-KLFY.
        The FFA members will use the skills learned to serve as chapter, area and state FFA officers, compete in public speaking career development events, and provide leadership in other school and community organizations.
