Blake Thomas, a fifth grade student at Washington Elementary School, has been selected to the 1998 Louisiana All-Star Middle School Concert Band. The band is under the direction of nationally known composer Ed Huckeby and will rehearse and perform at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge from July 23rd-25th. Earlier this school year, Blake was selected as first chair trumpet player in District III Honor Band.
