Rustin Deville Awarded DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award

    Rustin Deville of North Central High School was recently presented the school's highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.

    Deville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Deville of Melville, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Deville's significant experiences and accomplishments have included maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average for 4 years not only in agriscience, but in all course work; competing on the state champion soils career development team and the dairy foods team; serving as chapter vice president and winning state proficiency awards in the areas of landscape management and turf grass management.

    Hals Beard is Deville's agricultural education instructor at North Central High School.

    Over the past 57 years, more than 150,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, which has become a symbol for excellence and the school's highest agricultural honor. As the winner of the 2004 award, Deville's name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at North Central High School.

    Monsanto, a longtime supporter of agricultural education, FFA, 4-H and other farm youth organizations and initiatives, has sponsored the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, named for it
