NCHS Oral History Project

    Ms. Condon's advanced class of juniors completed an end of the year oral history project entitiled "And Then Came Hope: St. Landry Parish Women on the Jim Crow Era". Students conducted interviews and transcribed them and collected family photos and scanned them.
    They made their presentations for a representative from LSU who was involved in a similar project at the university. She was impressed and commented that our students did as well as they did and even better in some areas.
    At the end of the school year, the results of the project were published in book form, and students held a book signing party as guests of Ms. Condon.
